Will of Sally Webb, Essex Co. MA

In the name of God. Amen.

            I. Sally Webb of Salem in the County of Essex and Commonwealth of Massachusetts being in good bodily health and of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament, hereby revoking and making null and void all other last wills and testaments by me heretofore made.

            First, I hereby constitute and appoint John C. Osgood of said Salem, Esquire, to be sole executor of this my last will directing my said executor to pay all my just debts and funeral expenses and the legacies hereafter given out of my estate.

            Second.  After the payment of my just debts and funeral expenses I give and bequeath to Mrs. Mary Mardin, wife of Aaron Mardin of said Salem, all my wearing apparel and household goods and furniture.  If said Mary Mardin shall have died before coming into possession of said legacy, then I give and bequeath the same to Mrs. Sarah Kehew, sister of said Mary Mardin, to her her [sic] heirs and assigns forever.

            Third.  I give and bequeath to my said executor the sum of two hundred dollars, in trust, to pay over the same with any profits accruing therefrom, unto my beloved brother William Webb, now supposed to be dead, whenever he shall be found to be living at any time within the period of five years after my decease, or to any lawfully begotten surviving issue of the said William, found within said period of five years after my decease:  but if neither the said William nor any such issue of the said William shall have been discovered at the expiration of said period of five years, then I direct my said Executor to pay over the said two hundred dollars and the profits that may have accrued therefrom to the Proprietors of the Crombie Street Church in Salem, their successors or assigns, to the same uses as are expressed in the next succeeding bequest to said Proprietors.

            Fourth.  All the remainder of my estate, real personal or mixed, of which I shall die seized or to which I shall be entitled at the time of my decease, I give devise and bequeath to the said Proprietors of the Crombie Street Church in said Salem, their successors or assigns:  to be applied towards the payment of any indebtedness of the said Society:  and if no such indebtedness shall exist then the said legacy shall be applied to the support of religious worship and the preaching of  Orthodox gospel as now preached in said Church. and to this end be expended as the said proprietors or their successors may determine.

            In testimony whereof I the said Sally Webb have to this my last will and testament subscribed my name and affixed my seal this twenty fourth day of September in the year eighteen hundred and sixty three.
